My contributions
Dev – Full development of the game’s code, including equation systems, progression, and pedagogical feedback. I also implemented the localization system (three languages), save/load functionality, and integrated code with animations, sound effects, and visuals, along with general optimizations to ensure reliability and performance.
Tech Artist – Responsible for bridging art and technology within the engine. Adjusted shaders, fonts, and graphic elements to maintain clarity, performance, and visual consistency.
Game Designer – Defined gameplay dynamics, challenges, and how players interact with the educational content. Structured progression, balanced difficulty, and designed the logic for responses to correct and incorrect answers.
VFX Designer – Created visual effects that enhance impact and emotion. Particles, transitions, and subtle details that make the experience more engaging.
Character Artist/Animator – Designed friendly characters and animated them to convey emotion and personality. The goal was to make the game welcoming and fun while preserving its educational nature.
Pedagogical Integration – Worked closely with teachers to adjust equation difficulty, font formats, and the way the game responds to player interactions. This validation ensured the content was appropriate, accessible, and effective for learning.
Project Coordination – Oversaw the overall organization of development, maintaining clean version control, branch separation, and integration between code, art, and design. The focus was on ensuring that each part of the game connected smoothly and that the process remained sustainable without compromising deadlines or quality.

Development process
The Beginning
The idea was born from a simple desire: to turn learning into something fun. It wasn’t just about making a game, but about creating a reliable, dynamic, and purposeful experience. From the start, I envisioned launching Hekariths in three languages — Portuguese, English, and Spanish — to broaden its reach and help children from different places in their learning journey. The content was continuously refined based on feedback and guidance from teachers across various aspects of the game.
Technical Challenges
I chose to build everything from scratch. No shortcuts, no reused code. That meant diving deep into algorithms, structuring reliable and dynamic systems, and ensuring that every part of the game had a solid foundation to grow.
Artistic Creation and Characters
Beyond the technical side, there was the work of designing friendly characters and bringing them to life with animations that conveyed emotion and personality. Every visual detail was crafted to make the game welcoming and engaging, reinforcing its educational nature without losing charm.
Real Learning
The technical side was already part of my background. What was truly new was facing the journey of publishing on the Play Store: understanding requirements, handling validations, and going through the mandatory two‑week testing period before release. This experience gave me a practical view of how to turn a personal project into something official and accessible.
Refinement
With the foundations ready, it was time for polishing. Fixing details, removing excess, and keeping only what truly mattered. Every adjustment was made with the goal of delivering a solid initial version without compromising quality.
Finalization
In the last days, the focus was on carefully reviewing everything. Testing, QA, and small tweaks ensured that the first version was consistent and ready to reach players.
Organization
Even amid the rush, I maintained good versioning practices. Separate branches, clear commits, and a clean main branch. This made the process more natural and sustainable, while laying the groundwork for future evolutions.
First Official Version
Hekariths is not just a game — it’s the realization of a dream. Version 1.0 marks the beginning of this journey, and it’s only the start of what’s yet to come.
